Buck fights for transportation needs of Coloradans
Coloradans in Congressional District Four are represented by someone who understands the needs of the people he represents. Congressman Ken Buck (CO-04) has taken a leading role in finding a common sense solution to the rebuilding of our nation's infrastructure. He is a co-sponsor of the Transportation Empowerment Act, which completely reforms current highway funding programs by transferring authority over federal highway and transit programs to the states.
This would permit Colorado to keep its tax revenue and apply it to projects that we consider top priorities. We know better than DC bureaucrats which projects are priorities. It would also double the available funds that are needed for pressing infrastructure projects in Colorado. Allowing states to direct the usage of tax revenue generated within their borders back to municipalities could result in 2.5 times more highway funding than what the federal government is left with after redistribution and red tape. Local governments can successfully complete infrastructure projects at a fraction of the cost required by larger bureaucracies.
Congressman Buck's approach makes government more efficient and returns authority to the people, where it belongs. We appreciate his leadership on this important issue.
