Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo. announced Tuesday the 2015 Congressional Art Competition opening show.

The show features artwork from students in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, which runs along eastern Colorado including Weld County. It goes on display March 28 through April at the Centennial Park Library, 2227 23rd St. in Greeley.

Buck will attend the awards ceremony and reception at 5:30 p.m. April 10. The public is invited to attend.

Annually the Congressional Institute sponsors this nationwide visual arts competition, honoring the talents and abilities of the nation’s finest student artists.

More than 650,000 high school students have participated in the Congressional Art Competition since its inception in 1982.

The grand prize winners’ artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, and they will attend a reception in their honor at the White House.

“As a freshman member of Congress, I am looking forward to seeing the artwork many talented young students in the 4th Congressional District have created,” Buck said.
