Washington -- Today, the House voted to pass H.R. 2, Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015. Congressman Ken Buck (R-CO) released the following statement:
“I can’t vote for this. Our doctors and our kids deserve better. I understand that we have to permanently fix this broken payments system, but we can’t make our kids and grandkids pay for it. We need legislation that pays the bill now. I didn’t come to Washington DC to continue this system of making future generations pay for current consumption," said Buck.
The Boehner-Pelosi deal to address the looming Medicare physician payment cuts proposes to add $141 billion to the deficit over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Rep. Ken Buck (CO-04) serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
