House Passes Legislation to Protect Future Colorado River Flows

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House passed unanimously the Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan Authorization Act (H.R. 2030) to approve the long-awaited drought contingency plan, which will safeguard the water supply for more than 40 million people who depend on the Colorado River for drinking water, farming irrigation, and hydropower. Congressman Buck issued the following statement:

"I joined my colleagues from across the West in co-sponsoring the Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan Authorization Act and I am glad to see this bill pass the House. It's critical that we do everything we can to ensure continued access to this vital resource that sustains the life and economy of our region," Congressman Buck stated.
