Rep. Buck Leads Delegation-Wide Letter to Gov. Polis Honoring Colorado’s Brave Firefighters
Today, Congressman Ken Buck (R-Colo.) led the Colorado congressional delegation in a letter to Governor Jared Polis honoring the bravery and perseverance of firefighters battling raging wildfires across the state. Rep. Buck (R-Colo.) was joined by Sens. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), and Reps. Joe Neguse (D-Colo.), Doug Lamborn (R-Colo.), Scott Tipton (R-Colo.), Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.), Diana Degette (D-Colo.), and Jason Crow(D-Colo.).
“On the front lines of this fight, firefighters have demonstrated heroism in the midst of extreme and volatile conditions. Even in instances where fires have grown rapidly, such as the East Troublesome Fire’s nearly 140,000-acre expansion in one day, firefighters have courageously fought to halt the flames and prevent further destruction of Coloradans’ livelihoods and property,” the Colorado delegation wrote. “We applaud the valiant efforts of Colorado’s firefighters and commend these brave individuals for their sacrifice and perseverance. We offer our continued support and prayers for our firefighters’ safety and success in extinguishing these fires.”
