Rep. Buck Votes "NO" on Democrats' Anti-Gun Legislation
March 11, 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Ken Buck (R-Colo.) voted against the Bipartisan Background Checks Act (H.R. 8) and the Enhanced Background Check Act (H.R. 1446).
H.R. 8 criminalizes many weapon transfers and imposes unnecessary and redundant background checks that already occur on all gun sales while H.R. 1446 delays the sale of a firearm to a law-abiding citizen for what could be an indefinite period of time.
Both of these gun control measures are further attempts by Democrats to limit the constitutional right of Americans to keep and bear arms.
Rep. Buck released the following statement concerning his objection to H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446:
"I am proud to cast my vote against these gun control measures and defend the constitutional, God-given right of Americans to keep and bear arms,” said Rep. Buck. "Any attempt to limit law-abiding Americans' access to a firearm is a clear violation of the oath I took to protect and defend the Constitution. I will always fight for Coloradans' Second Amendment rights in Congress.”
