Air travel is essential to our way of life on the eastern plains of Colorado. Our state’s airports provide safe and convenient travel options, they provide job opportunities for our friends and neighbors, and they contribute to our state and local tax revenues. But in order for Colorado to support our state’s growing travel and tourism economy, we need to conduct critical maintenance at our airports. As such, I’m pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a grant of $5,750,000 to Wray Municipal Airport as part of its Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to assist with much-needed runway maintenance and lighting construction.
“Infrastructure is an important facet of our nation’s economy and our way of life in eastern Colorado. We must ensure that this vital industry has the proper resources to meet our country’s travel needs, we must repair our nation’s airport infrastructure to maximize efficiency and security, and we must continue growing Colorado into a world-class travel destination,” stated Congressman Buck.
